Loads of homes in my neighborhood are switching to AT&T fiber literally the minute the install techs leave after installing the fiber lines

I did that at my place with Vexus. I had them installing at my house 2 days after the fiber lines were done. Not one hiccup in over a month, paying for 400 MB down/up but routinely get 500 down and 450 up.

Anyone who thinks AT&T is any better to deal with than Cox/charter is in for a HUGE surprise. frick AT&T.

I switched to AT&T several years ago then went back to Cox after over a year.

I had no problems for the first 5 4-6 months then all of a sudden my internet would randomly go out. It would be like 9AM and it would start. It would go out for about 5 mins, then fine for 20 mins, go out for a few mins.. It would do this all day.

Then there were a few days in a week where it was out for most of the day. Everyone in the area started complaining, they did something and for a good 8 months there were no problems then all of a sudden it started up again. It went on for a few months and then one day we were told we wouldn't have service for the next two days, I saw a bunch of cox trucks down the road from me and then after those two days I haven't had a problem since. That was about a year ago.

Im not sure where you live, but if its in a smaller town or rural area, you can contact a councilman or parish president or some shite and they will make a call to some higher up, but I had problems with AT&T as well.

OP if your area can do AT&T Fiber, I would switch to that right this second. They're about 3x as fast, doesn't disconnect as often, and if about half the price. Cox sucks fricking arse.

his weekend my download speed was ranging from 1.5 to 3 mps

On my “up to 250mps” plan

Hardware issue perhaps? I have Cox 50Mbps internet and when I notice my speeds are getting slower, I unplug my modem for about 5-10 minutes. That usually fixes the issue. I'm around 23-30Mbps when I'm on WiFi and pegged out at 50Mbps hardwired.

Try that and then plug an ethernet cable going from an open port on your modem to a laptop. Run a speed test. If speeds are still low then you might need to do a factory reset. If speeds are still low, it could be a cabling issue or your modem is faulty.

I'm definitely interested in it for my camp- but it won't be available there until sometime next year....
