My son still sees us fight and argue and he sees us make up at the end. I'm not saying he never sees that, but we do make a concerted effort to hide it from him until he's a little older. Nothing wrong with that.

I'll be fine if they come out with about 8 more commercials condemning other "problem" groups and explaining how they could be better as well.

I get what you're stating. I have ended friendship with guys that were complete asshats, but let's be real, okay? Men, by and large, treat women with a certain level of both respect and distrust. We judge women on looks, on their clothes, on their hair, on their personality, on their enthusiasm in bed. Men are, and always have been, hunter/gatherers, predatory and aggressively sexual. A decade of soy milk can't change hundreds of thousands of years of nature. That said, civility, honor and respect generally prevail.
Gillette missed the mark here. They painted with a wide brush and in the process denigrated the vast majority of men who are responsible, non-violent, non-rapey, non-baby daddy types but who are just honest, respectful men. You should be incensed at the insinuation, especially if you have your own sons and have raised them right.

Everybody tries to preach this "don't fight at school" crap now. I told my kid he has my permission to retaliate against any bully that tries to frick with him... I'll deal with the school if it ever comes to it. He's not mean-spirited or violent by nature but he needs to know it's ok to defend yourself.
But I've also told him that if he sees someone picking on a weaker kid to step in and put a stop to that shite. He's a good kid... I have no doubt that he'll use good judgement.

Remains to be seen. There was a short term jump, but I think the longterm reaction could be negative. It may not be and they may hold steady, but I still don't see the point.
Regardless, it is a bad idea to isolate a segment of the market for the top brass' political beliefs.
