quote:I do the same thing. I'm sorry if you're in a hurry, but I'm not getting in the right lane 2 car lengths in front of an 18-wheeler because your impatient arse can't wait a few seconds.
I always throw the blinker on, I also wait a reasonable amount of time to get in the right lane after passing an 18 wheeler to get some distance between us instead of immediately getting right in front of them. That seems to really upset the impatient people for some reason.
I hate tailgaters worse than left lane drivers.

There is no law against brake checking. It's a he said, she said and usually the majority of the fault falls on the car behind.

reckless driving is a crime.
Your post is dumb
There is no fricking law against tapping your brakes on the highway you idiot.
There is a law against following too closely.
Next time you rear end someone, tell the cop "They break checked me! It was their fault!" See how that works out for you.

One thing I never see mentioned is a person’s definition of passing.
For you fast baws, passing doesn’t mean jump to the left lane immediately because you see a slower vehicle half a mile up the interstate.

How is that exactly? Because I sent in a video of am 18 wheeler driver driving like a jackass and trying to keep it from happening to other people?

That wasn’t much of a brake check.

I'll never understand brake checkers. I am not a tailgater but brake checking going 70 mph is just putting everyone's life in danger that is behind the 2 cars.

I don't know if it counts as a break check, but sometimes I will lightly tap the brake, just enough to make the lights come on / get out of cruise control, but not actually slow down when I'm in line and can't go any faster but the dude it still on your arse. Just a reminder to the person behind me to chill out and give me a little bit of room.
If you are in a line of cars like that, its better to do that than to wait until the guy in front of you actually has to slow down and you really do have to hit the brakes hard.

The car who did the brake check was right in this case. He was surpassing the truck and the other car merging into the right lane. That is what the left lane is made for and speed needs to adjust until that vehicle can move over to the right lane. If that car were just riding the left lane and not surpassing than yeah it would be in the wrong by holding up the traffic. All in all it is ridiculous to get on someone's arse like in this case and I would have brake checked him too.
