No. It’s been gone a good 20 years.

No wonder everyone has such an antiquated view of Starkville.

It’s basically turned into a rich-people cash grab with a liberal mayor that taxes prosperity into the dirt. Small town with big city problems and property values skyrocketing squeezing out regular people. Kinda sad really. Some baws are holding out, so hope resides.

You can golf at Old Waverly, a great course that has held PGA events.

The Grant Presidential library is housed at Mitchell Memorial Library on campus.

Good bars and good food up and down the Cotton District. Bin 612, Two Brothers, Bulldog Burger, Boardtown pizza and pints, and much more.

Breakfast at the staple Starkville Cafe

Lunch or dinner at Restaurant Tyler, Harvey’s, Little Dooey, 44 Prime, Taste (Italian and big wine selection), or Anthony’s meat market.

Oh and stop by the MAFES store on campus… across from the Junction, and get a ball of Edam Cheese and some ice cream. Your welcome.

And I’m missing a lot. I know others wanna push the stereotype.. but if you can’t find something to do in an SEC member’s major university college town, it says a lot more about the person than the town.

Man who ran Petty’s retired and sold the property to a developer. It’s gone.
