Hey Pisco... saw you in the severe weather thread last night and was glad to see you popped your head back into that thread after the tornado passed.
Saddened terribly by the devastation and loss of life in your community
Take a breath man... I know it's overwhelming right now but you'll make it.

Glad you and your family are safe.
Just horrific damage.

I’ll be honest. The tornado was a 1/4 mile from me. I heard the roar and I swear I was totally calm. Everybody was totally calm. We all had our iPads watching the live streams.
I saw my first tornado when I was 8 in Anniston, AL. In 2006, I ran into an outbreak that hit Bradford, TN and Caruthersville, Mo. This was as close as it comes. I just had a peace about myself. What’s crazy is I usually have an instinct on these things. I guess I didn’t expect that fricker to travel 200+ miles. I was calm though.
I’m beyond thankful that the Lord protected me and my family.

Certainly. Bowling Green was also devastated, as well as Craighead County, AR (near Jonesboro) and greater Cincinnati. The level of destruction is immense.

Seriously. Prayers to you and your community along with every other community affected. That is heartwrenching seeing that much destruction from the storm.

I will bring you a generator and 40 gallons of gas if you need it. I'm on the north shore and can leave tomorrow.

Reports are saying the whole town got wiped out. Downtown/court square is on the North side. The restaurants, Walmart, some banks are on the south side down S 6th st. This thing came up US45 and I-69 from the SW. It hooked more NE. Went through the industrial area and Co-Op, through the projects and up through the court square.
I live on the west side of town near I-69, KY 80. Neighborhood is fine. Just no water or power. So don’t think the entire town is a total loss. Misleading reports.

I appreciate the offer. We have family on the North and South parts of the county. North has power and running water. Dad on the south side is trying to get his generator up and running.
We’re good. I was without power for 7 days in the January 2009 ice storm.

Very thankful that you and your family are safe. I’m glad you had peace through that nightmare.

Baw, when you went silent last night everyone in that thread was worried, concerned, and praying for you. We all knew what you were dealing with, we could see it. When you finally posted, it provided us with legitimate relief.
It is good to hear that you and your property made it through. Do what you're able to help your neighbors pick up the pieces and start the recovery process. It really does become a collective/community effort. The smallest of gestures can make a world of difference to people who don't know their next step.

Just got off the phone with a friend who lives near there. Said the twister was about 3 miles from him. Prayers for all the people up there.

My 2 sisters and 1 have a cousin who lives in Kentucky. My sister was on the phone talking with her when the phone cut off. We FINALLY heard from her. Every house on her street was leveled except for hers!!! Mother Nature is something else. Payers to your families and town. Have faith and be thankful. I will say a prayer for you and your town!! God Bless

Glad you are okay. The imagery on the local news in Lexington was unreal. The whole town is just gone. Let's hope our inept govt can actually do something their people want them to be prepared to do now.
