Ha! I’m a drunk and I’m a pussy!

I remember when I got sober(the first time) I was torn about using that emoji

Serious question. Do alcholics lack the ability to just address problems? Like you just tell your ex to frick off the first time she shite on you?

Not entirely, some people use it for anxiety and just becomes a thing they can't stop. For me it leads to selfish actions

I lack the ability to address problems and I don't drink at all. You never know.

I’ve gone a couple months a few times, 4 months once, 8 months once, and now I’m on day 11 this time doing AA 100% (doing it on my own obviously doesn’t work) This past year has been hell and almost killed me/ruined my life. Good luck man.

Yeah, I didn't think I had an issue because I could go stints without it. I'm a binge drinker, I start and just don't stop til I pass out. Took me about 3 rounds of forced AA to realize.

Came here to post this. Alcohol Lied to Me is a pretty good one as well. Good luck and one day at a time!

About 17 years ago I woke for work with the "Mother of all Hangovers".I made the decision that morning that I would never do that to myself again.

I definitely have an addictive personality, but the more time I put between myself and that hangover, the more my resolve was strengthened.

I bought an Acoustic Guitar and have poured myself into it.I also found God in that time.

God has transformed me from a person with little self-confidence,into a person that plays and sings for Seniors at an Assisted Living Facility.

I wish you the best Whit.

Palmetto would probably not be a "recommended path". It's a tough love style place that doesn't put up with BS and works.

It worked for me. But I'll be the first to say that the major component if it's going to 'work' is your mindset when you get there. Either you are going to do what they say and it'll give you the best chance of success or you won't and it won't. You have to be able to surrender to the fact that there is no other way on Gods green Earth that you can stop drinking or using. IF you still think you have a possible way that will just maybe work next time, you're going to try it and throw everything away again.

I got there 12.28.2015. We probably know each other too although we would have only crossed paths a few times.
