Just until after the elections.

How any American can watch or support these people is beyond me.
I can't fathom how people can support and encourage the behavior of the MSM and in turn the democrats these days.
I don't know, I guess the media is winning and American's really are this gullible. Amazing and sad.

Most of the mainstream media absolutely does want the shutdown to last as long as possible. They started all of this overreaction that has been going on over the last month.
Media creates mass hysteria and fear 24/7, then government officials and businesses have to react the same way. News ratings are through the roof over the last month. The last thing they want is to have to go back to anti-Trump propaganda because the ratings AKA advertising dollars will shrink back down to normal.

That's crazy to think about. I'm so sick of hearing about it I never watch the news or listen to talk radio.
shite, I hate Trey Wingo now because he won't shut up about how we need to follow government guidelines.

To be fair, they’re probably getting great ratings in all of this. Of course the media wants the big story to continue. Us getting poorer, is making them richer.

Honestly think they believe this will push Trump out of office. Wasn't it Maher that was openly pulling for an economic recession if that is what it takes to make Trump lose the election??
I don't think these liberal elites care about anybody outside their liberal elite circles. Tone deaf and detached from reality for 90% of the population. They think what is normal in NY, LA, Chicago, etc... is what everyone should aspire to be like. Fly over states... they don't give a frick.

Maher actually thinks we need to open back up.

Yes, nothing like a good economic collapse to make liberals happy.

Also, they cater to their target audience.

I’ve watched less and less news as the days go by actually.
Sick of it.
All of them.

No politician or journalist has the middle class if this country's best interests at heart, and that includes Fox News and Donald Trump. None of them. There are no good ones.
There needs to be a fundamental change in the way we get our news, how we select people to represent us, and how those selected govern.
Until that fundamental change occurs, more of the same will become worse and worse in orders of magnitude.

Meanwhile, the 4th largest city in the country (Houston) literally pissed away $17million on completely unused field hospitals and hospitals have 40% availability.
Measures should be taken such as common sense and distancing, but going into May, time to come out of the caves. I get phasing in restaurants and such as well. The radical steps do help, but the talk of isolation months on end is asinine.
Months on end, bullets are more detrimental than a sneeze.

MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace suggested on Thursday that there was a "silver lining" in the devastation the country has faced from the coronavirus outbreak, which is that it will damage President Trump.
"There is something both tragic, and pathetic, and ironic about the fact that it took a, you know, color-blind, gender-blind, you know, state-line-blind virus to sort of have all of the president’s sins from his first three years catch up with him," Wallace began during a panel discussion. "You can’t stand there and lie. You can’t contradict your scientists because they’re the ones that stand at 66 and 68 percent public trust, not you. He’s down at 38 percent. Pence is lower than him."
She continued, "I mean, he needs those people whether he likes what they say or not and I wonder what you think about whether or not there’s some silver lining there, that some of the things that, that we’ve been talking about for three years may be finally catching up with him?"
