You're right. I've been given a second lease on life and I'm going to make the most of it.
The ironic thing is the bad valve is what was making me go into heart failure and sorta saved my life. I've had this valve issue my whole life. When I was little it was diagnosed as a "murmur". Mom would take me yearly to get it checked out. They said I'd need open heart surgery to fix it unless I "outgrew" it. Seems like it was about 5th grade or so when my pedestriac cardiologist declared me as being in the clear. I've gone my whole life not knowing it was a ticking time bomb because it was not grown together. Instead it was open like a cleft lip. But had it not finally caught up to me like this they'd have never found my widowmaker artery was 80% blocked.

Yes. Actually good coverage cause my wife works for the state. None of that 80/20 split crap. And through my work I've got coverage that pays me my full salary while I'm off.

For my Alabama baws, or anyone really, if you ever need anything heart related done, Grandview Medical Center on 280 is the place to come. See Dr Chandler for your cardiologist and Dr Crestline as your surgeon. They'll fix you up and the folks here are awesome.

I've not seen it yet. I think it's not all the way down to my belly button though. The nurse told me Sunday night it would be just down my sternum.
