You're still going to be about an hour east of Lafayette, but much closer to the Alamo

No. In Cali they’re just left wing lunatics. Definitely not libertarian

I had a big customer in WC at my previous job. They always joked that to find housing, go to the center of San Francisco and start driving away from it until you can afford it

In terms of where you can end up in the Bay Area Walnut Creek is one of the most boring suburbs.

Walnut Creek is a beautiful town.

Weather will be mild and refreshing year round. Outstanding restaurants are everywhere. San Francisco and it’s attractions are nearby. Amazing food shops and grocery stores. Beautiful scenery.

You can visit Lake Tahoe and ski in a couple hours easy drive. You can drive down the most beautiful rocky coastline in a couple hours. The beautiful vineyards of Napa and Sonoma are a couple hours away. There are three airports nearby that can take you just about anywhere in the world.

Your taxes will be through the roof and everything will cost more. Housing is massively expensive, some of the costliest in the nation.

I lived in WC for 6 years in the late 80s. Wonderful small town just on the East side of the Berkley Hills. Crime is non-existent, traffic a little rough, but the weather is awesome. A little warm in the Summer, but not bad. Hardly ever thunder-storms, just a gentle little rain.

The outdoor activities are great too. Hiking, biking was terrific. Yosemite isn't far away, and if you like to snow ski, Lake Tahoe isn't far either.

I had a great time while I was there. The Loma Prieta earthquake (7.6) soured me on the area; that and the very high cost of real estate.

I was there a few years ago; and it has grown a lot. Don't know if it still has the small time vibe any more.

Really? Because from what i hear and see on google maps, Walnut Creek has a happening downtown with many bars and restaurants. Is this not correct? I plan on renting downtown for the first year.
