Build a garage, floor out over it and put in an attic lift.
Versa lift
Use it once, you’ll thank me.
If you end up selling the house it’s a great selling aid

If you decide to build a garage make sure it's deep enough to accommodate today's vehicles.
I've seen too many $70,000 pickup trucks sitting on the driveway because the garage wasn't deep enough.

Pretty common in cities. I haven’t had a garage in over 10 years. Don’t see many in New Orleans. Actually thinking of moving soon, garage didn’t even cross my mind on list of desires

Of course, but the statement was made ...

Rich people don't need a garage to store all kinds of tools and whatever, because they pay other people to fix their shite.
Which is incorrect.....

I built my 700 thousand dollar house with out a garage. they just collect junk. I did build a 10x10 square foot shop to hold my tools

cars last a whole lot longer when you use your garage.

Just build an interior storage building. That is all a garage becomes anyway. I’ve owned three garages in my life. None housed any vehicles. The wife takes them over with all their extraneous shite.

Are you building a trailer? Houses have garages or at least a carport.

Am I going to regret this? Never had a garage myself, so don't know what I'm missing
You don't miss having a garage and maybe you wouldn't use it. I'm a DIY person and like to work on things. You may be content watching TV or otherwise spending your non-work awake time in your house. Or maybe you're just not at home much.
But for me, I was clear to my ex-wife that as we looked for homes, I demanded a garage. And my current wife met me after I built a 1,200 sf shop behind my previous house. At my current place (my forever home) my shop is 200 ft from my house and is ~3,200 sf, mostly enclosed.
My garage / shop has always been my sanctuary. Not that my wife is off limits, it's just the place I go to unwind, watch sports, enjoy some alone time. Just last night a buddy came over...we had all the doors open, the country music going, sports on the screen, bourbon, and a barrel fire. Can't beat it.
When investigating different building companies, I went to a gorgeous piece of property near Williamsburg and looked at a shop. The older gentleman owner was in his 70's. Shop was incredible. He said he had one regret: he wished he'd built it when he was my age, not 70.

Add a garage and put a bonus room above it...

My house was much more but I build things in the garage because, well, I'm a man.

its really not about you, unless you plan to die in it.
Its about resale. I would never buy a house with out a garage. Not only do I want to protect the cars, but I refuse to unload groceries in pouring rain.
A garage is less expensive to add on than a finished room, I don't understand a decision to omit it.
