The bar should be a haven from douche bags vaping.

This should be solely left tot he discretion of the bar owner. Smoking, not smoking, vaping, not vaping, the music they play etc. I prefer not having to deal with a smoke filled bar but I'm 57 and my days of going to bars with any regularity are long behind me. When I did, every one of them smelled like an ashtray and so did everyone there by the end of the night. It was just what you had to deal with as a non-smoker. Well, non cigarette smoker, anyway

Does drinking stink?

Does drinking make others around you cough excessively?

Does drinking makes the eye of others around you water too much?

That's what I mean by immediate negative effects, especially towards others.

And can have no lasting negative effects towards you if you're not an alcoholic.

It's a pretty easy argument to make that there are way more man-hours of work lost each year due to being drunk/hungover. I've never heard of anyone being less productive because they smoked too many cigarettes the prior night.

You are the type who probably thinks people decides to be gay.

It doesn't matter what people feel about gay marriage & abortion. Why should government dictate to them what they can or can't do?

Just like smoking. People can smoke all they want. But just because they made that decision doesn't mean other people should have to be exposed to it. Smoke all you want in your house, in your car, in smoke permitted areas. That's your habit to deal with.

In other words, you should be able to do whatever you want, but you shouldn't expect to be accommodated because of your decisions.

I’m still trying to find non smokers whose buzzes were crushed by the dozen shithole dives in BR that still allowed smoking before the ban

The argument against logic has devolved from an actual defense to what we want to call the type of republic established. My opinion might not be what someone else views as right, but damn I didn't give up like they did.

It's no wonder die hard Libertarians are killing the cause. Probably talk big on here then go vote for Trump so their vote isn't wasted.

I've yet to see a logical argument put up from the other side.

Just railing about government overreach like it is the Feds handing down these rulings.

The gov’t should probably ban logical arguments too lest they cause you to actually think

I like the smoking policy put down by the local government here.

You can allow smoking in your establishment, but if you do, your establishment must be 21+ only.

Seems reasonable to me.

if you think the bans exists because “employees have right to safe environment”, then why is the ban not a blanket across every job in America?

why don’t all employees have that right?

Employees have a right to some basic level of safety, like proper tag-out procedures, access to hearing protection, etc., but secondhand smoke is not a safety hazard, it's just an inconvenience. If it really is a health risk, it's analogous to all of the extra radiation flight crews receive over the years.

I’m good with no smoking inside, but I don’t have a problem with an outside patio for smokers. I think the total ban is silly. I used to smoke cigarettes in college. Since I switched to cigars, I don’t smoke nearly as often, and I smoke at home. It’s hard to truly enjoy a stogie in public. There’s no better feeling than a nice, sweet bourbon and a favorite cigar.

Nope

Why should government dictate to them what they can or can't do?

My point exactly. Before the religious right took over the GOP this was the stance most Republicans took. It's called Freedom, right?

It seems you do not care about the bar's employees who will be exposed to your second hand smoke! That's what I like to see another that does not care about others!!!!!!!!!!!
