re: I'm a gun owner - is it really that bad to make a gun registry and require mental screens?

Any mind control substance and you will not be allowed to own a weapon going by what OP and many others are saying.

Were you 8 and your parents put you on Adderall for ADD? Oh well...you can never own a gun even if you were misdiagnosed by a Dr and your lazy parents.

I don’t understand this argument.

Are you saying because the founding fathers decided that’s the way it has to be then that’s just the way it has to be forever? This first amendment isn’t a good thing because the founding fathers said it was.

I’m not even sharing an opinion here I just don’t think your argument for something should be “because that’s the way it is”

Why stop there?

Oh, you went to marriage counseling? Red flag.

Oh, your kid has to see a shrink for some reason? Red flag.

Oh, you said something mean on Twitter or TD? Red flag.

No fricking thanks.

Remember when legal, law abiding citizens had their handguns taken away during Katrina since NOLA residents were required to register handguns?

ooo but you see the founding fathers also made it difficult to add new amendments so you can kinda see intent there

I mean, you don't NEED to have a car capable of going faster than 70 mph since that's the max in your state.

We're going to reserve vehicles like that for governmental use only.

There are restrictions in place in many states and it doesn’t slow down anything.

Can we at least require some kind of mental screening for owning a gun and make sure that each gun is registered?

Who decides the mental criteria for owning a gun? How do you quantify something unquantifiable?

I don't care about any other issue any more other than preventing more children being gunned down.

I don’t recall you posting this in the threads of the innocent bystander children getting shot in drive-bys.

Then don’t complain about the other issues that come along with it.

No one likes gun violence. The key to dealing with any issue is approaching it logically and not emotionally.

Good, I'll add you to the list of idiots whose opinions don't matter at all because you're siding with people who want to normalize pedophilia/gender confusion, overpowering government, and crippling our economy.

I can’t think of anything worse to “destigmatize” getting help for mental issues than to tell someone “oh, yeah, by the way, if we don’t like your answers we aren’t going to let you do one of the things you enjoy the most”

Even worse not being allowed to be able to defend yourself!

supreme court decision

Which stated that the right to bear arms is not unlimited and that guns and gun ownership would continue to be regulated.

Yep.

Red Flag laws could disqualify most of the country. I am 100% positive that's what these people want.
