Because age is not the only risk factor for autism you a-hole. There are several other things that can cause autism.

There is no study that says advanced age alone is the cause of autism.

Considering everything I’ve gone through the past 4 years and all the genetic counseling my husband and I had to go through....I think we know more about this than you.

I’m 41 and just became a father for the first time eight months ago. Best thing that has ever happened to me.

Fine. But a 70/yo is likely going to rely on YOU. Also the added stress of possibly losing a parent.

Don’t know why he would give a shite nurse, it’s yours and your husband’s call, as long as everyone’s all in for being a good parent, sounds like you are

Age is the biggest indicator

Of course it's not the "only" one

Counselors will also tell you things to make you feel better, doesn't mean they're truthful

We should all give a shite.

Women are having kids at much higher ages than they should be

Autism is at all time highs

Society is trying to manipulate biology and it just doesn't work that way

Becaus you don’t actually give a damn about the science as much as you do being an internet edge lord. It’s like if someone stated that their kid has cancer and your response was “you know they’re probably gonna die right?”. It might technically be correct, but you’re still an a-hole.

i had a friend that became a dad at 48. It was intentional. His wife was 41. And the kid has some chromosomal issue.

I feel for ya, I was 38 when we found out about she was pregnant. I have used the ol' Danny Glover " I am too tired for this shite" a lot over the last few years.

Had one at 45 and 49. They are great kids and I am a better father (more settled down) the second go around.
Embrace it and you will learn that the new addition will keep you young! I coach baseball and some of the parents are my oldest daughters age and I just chuckle inside.

38 isn’t too old. I mean it sucks if you had other kids when you were in your early or mid 20’s, but in general I don’t think 38 is old to have a kid.

I’m 31 and I don’t have kids yet, will probably start trying in a year or so.

A friend of mine found out he was having another child at 52.

So it could be worse.

My siblings all at least a decade older so I was in the position your child will be.

On the negative side the combination of old sperm and old eggs probably impacted my intelligence.

On the positive side they would have killed each other If I wasn’t around.
