Only if they include plea bargains from felony possession to MJ...statement from my friend.

Should we ban alcohol too?

Think how much better this country would be if they just legalized it already. Someday we’ll move out of the stone ages.

Marijuana being legal will put a major dent in cartel profits, reduce crime, and likely reduce both marijuana usage AND ALL DRUG USAGE in the long term.
Your fantasy world is the only place where things actually play out like this.

The cartel is moving heroin and other drugs more now. They’re not going to shut down just because the U.S. legalizes MJ.
This more how it actually works in the real world. You don’t cure drug problems by adding more drugs to the equation. That’s a pretty moronic premise.

We can't have that here in Louisiana. There are lots of senators and house reps that have to show their faces in church on Sundays in rural and North LA and you can't have them voting for the devil's weed.
Notwithstanding logic, common sense, and what is in the best interests of the state as a whole of course.

Our third world state already posts up troopers all along the Texas border, I’m sure if a border state legalized, they’d be stopping cars left and right. Back the blue.
You would be well advised not to drive back from Colorado into Texas carrying a bunch of weed, especially the derivatives like oil or wax.
Those hick counties are out to police for profit and are stiching people up on the reg.

Dopers can’t comprehend that.

Yep, I do love hearing people who have never experienced a high try to discuss it as if they're experts.
Hell, my FIL who is against it and is a staunch Christian conservative doesn't even know the bud is the part of the plant you smoke, but he thinks he's an expert.

Except we’re not adding drugs to the equation. The drugs are already there, and its illegality isn’t stopping anyone from doing them. And if we’re being honest, we are never going to “cure” the drug problem, not if that means completely stopping anyone and everyone from doing drugs altogether. It’s time to try a different approach...

Which state will be the first one from the south? My money is on Florida
Quite possibly. Mississippi was real quick on passing the sports gambling bills so they seem very open to options that have cash cow potential.
