They estimate a gross profit of nearly $75 million over the three-year period, which would have resulted in approximately $20 million in excise taxes owed to the IRS.

Uh, what? Gross profit is just revenue minus cost of goods sold. That's not the number one pays taxes on.

Yeah supposedly a bunch of buildings in Trussville are probably gonna be seized by the feds as part of this.

My brother is connected to the real estate industry in Birmingham. He said these guys are only passive investors in that entertainment district in Trussville. He doesn’t think the Feds will seize those properties, but could do something about their ownership stake. He thinks the other owners will just have to buy out their shares and the proceeds will be seized, if it even gets to that stage.

Anybody heard of them? Anybody familiar with the prosecution of these cases?

Yes, I know one of the guys. Hate it for him but I think he'll end up being OK from what I've heard.

So, what, like a days worth of what government wastes in Ukraine and elsewhere?

Yeah, the game is hilarious.

The government just prints what it wants to spend but still demands you pay taxes

Yeah but I don't necessarily believe those numbers. Lawyers doing math is always a joke.

the OWNERS of red44 100% have grossed that much profit in the last 3 years.

I would guess there's 20 kids, at a minimum, who run books off of red 44 at every SEC school (not counting the rest of america). Each of those kids has at a very minimum 100 people on those books.

They're massive.

One of those guys coached one of my kids for multiple years in sports. Crazy. I liked the guy.

I had a thought about this, if you could do the Back to the Future type of time travel and get a book from the future and come back and start placing bets on sports teams.

Wouldn’t some one eventually take notice and try to sabotage your wagers and get someone to take a dive that would alter the history in the book?

Or would the book update with history, like the fax Marty’s future wife brought from the future to the past?

Books would just stop taking your bets then people would have to bet for you.

Irl, Marty/Biff would probably get killed if he abused the almanac.

I think you would just have to place enough losing bets to stay under the radar but win more than you lose enough to take nice profits.
