All the bickering could have been resolved with a simple Google search. The data comes right from Texas HHSC.
ETA, this is not all Medicaid/Medicare.
LINK
AUSTIN – The Texas Health and Human Services Commission today released data showing that in November 2024, Texas hospitals incurred $121.8 million in health care costs for persons not lawfully present in the U.S.
Individuals not lawfully present in the U.S. visited Texas hospitals more than 31,000 times within that month, according to the data.
Hospitals throughout the state reported the data to HHSC in accordance with Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order 46. HHSC provided the data to Governor Abbott through a letter available here.
The executive order directs Texas hospitals to provide HHSC quarterly reports on patients who are not lawfully present in the U.S, including the number of inpatient discharges, emergency department visits and the cost of care provided to these patients. As required by federal law, hospital providers inform patients their response will not affect their care.
Though the $121.8 million incurred represents the month of November 2024, future reports will include full quarterly data. HHSC will release its first yearly report of data collected from hospital providers Jan. 1, 2026.

I think the word games they are playing is undocumented vs illegal. An undocumented(their word) immigrant could show up during the Biden years and claim asylum then be released with a court date - therefore they aren’t illegal in their mind just awaiting their court date.

Hey Clean - it was just too easy not to troll.
I work with a lot of kids and many, many grow up too fast. It’s ok if one or two are coddled.

That clearly states the OP is correct in money and visits.
Is your take that all those are illegal/ undocs?

That math comes out to bea little over $3,000 per visit….which no one pays. Sounds like a huge pile of bullshite to me!

I googled and it said illegals are only able to receive emergency Medicaid and it runs $62-90 million a YEAR.
Where are these numbers coming from?
Most large cities in Texas have a "hospital district tax" that is part of your property taxes. This also pays for medical care for illegals.

Never been to a hospital?
OP's title is a bit misleading since the first sentence from the tweet reads "Texas hospitals incurred $121.8 million in health care costs for persons not lawfully present in the U.S." This means that illegal aliens racked up $121.8M in healthcare bills that will never be paid by them which drives healthcare costs up for people with the ability to pay. The state will compensate the hospital but it will be pennies on the dollar.

Can’t be. Democrats say no illegals are on Medicaid.

My take doesn’t matter; it’s the Texas Health and Human Services take. Per the title from the Texas HHSC link:

This is what I can't figure out, those totals serm to include Medicare/Medcaid/CHP.

Charges incurred <> Medicare/medicaid expense

Umm insurance companies pay a fortune for an ER visit and an ER visit usually involves several tests or scans, you don’t know what you are talking about

That's why Trump was elected.

Looks like just over $25MM of the total (~21%) fall under Medicaid/CHIP. Also appears, per Medicaid site (link below) some “limited emergency services” are eligible to undocumented immigrants.
