From everything I read and seen about it, it basically seems like one of the biggest self indulgent acts on the planet today. What other peaks have you climbed?

I drove from Aspen to Independence Pass once drank two beers and got drunk it was awesome. The everest buzz would be epic.

I presume he meant he will start his acclimatization period in January, which would yield a March or April summit, but he wasn't clear.

If you aren't already a climber you won't have proper training. Period.
That mountain has killed legendary climbers. It's sad that it has become an attraction for tourists and wannabes.
