Join me in Sabal Palms Phase 2....it has bigger yards than Sugar Mill with same perks. Brand new elementary school opened Aug 2019 Marshall Billeaud Elementary. Zone for Southside, Broussard address and good HOA.
I have an 8, 6 and 4 year old. Tons of kids in our neighborhood and little thru traffic.
Also all the homes sit at 31 feet or higher in phase 2 and none flooded during 2016.

However, just like Lafayette, if they don't stop depending on the Oilfield
Jesus, when are people going to stop saying this?
Unemployment in Lafayette is at 3%.
Homes sales in 2018 and 2019 were record years.
Parish sales tax collections are at record levels.

Maurice is quiet.
Youngsville is less quiet, but more people. Not a fan of the roundabouts, tbh.
Seems like if your job is in Broussard, you want to be on the east side of Johnson Street and east if Kaliste Saloom.. but north of 92. Getting to Broussard on HWY92 will make you want to kill your self

Yep
Lafayette is becoming a big tech city. It still has a long ways to go, but it’s getting there

Update: my work location would be Broussard but I would like to be within striking distance of Lafayette when I feel like heading in there.
I'm selling my previous house off of E Broussard. How much room you looking for?

Maurice is a good choice. You also have the benefit of good food in Abbeville or Lafayette.

You are correct. Lafayette unemployment rate is 3 percent. I’m from here and didn’t realize it was that good. To answer the OP question, live anywhere in south Lafayette, Broussard or youngsville and you will be fine. I’m partial to South Lafayette.

You’ll have to drive to Lafayette for school depending on which one you go with, I wouldn’t live in Broussard just because you work there

Stay outta Mawrice and Leroy baw. Closest Sonic is on S. Johnston if you want to meet up and talk about it

I would be careful about purchasing a home in any development in Broussard or Youngsville because of drainage issues. The newer developments in both of those areas were constructed in cane fields and some sit very low. The primary drainage includes ponds dug by the subdivision developers (but often not maintained) and a couple of drainage ditches. Not all developments are below grade, but the issue is real.
There are quite a few nice developments in Broussard and Youngsville, but there are also serious problems here and there. Just get a drainage opinion before buying out there, trust your inspections, and be objectively critical.
On the flipside, that new Southside public high school is very nice. There are public school programs in Lafayette Parish which are as good or better than the private schools.

I live off of East Bayou, and that would be a good area if you’re working in Broussard. It’s a quick trip up Kaliste to HWY 90.

I got a lot for sale in Oakthorn in Youngsville.
Gallet/YMS/YHS zoned.
No flooding.
Right on Youngsville Mardi Gras parade route & can watch Sugar Mill Pond fireworks from your own yard.
Come on over.

depends on where your kids will go to school(private, public, etc). but there's parts of lafayette that'll be easy to get to broussard. Or just Broussard if your kids go to school there also.
Youngsville is a good area but traffic may suck depending on where you need to get too.

I should have bought in phase 2 but i’m ot poor. Phase one on sabal palms row. People hauling arse while my kid is playing with the neighbors kid in the front yard is driving me nuts lol. Other than that we love it here.

Is river ranch still a thing?

I would decline the offer. Give your kids a better life and GTFO Louisiana.
