No. I would think you'd pretty much be incapable of experiencing emotions or feelings. Without those, imo, it wouldn't be worth continuing on. Think about it.. never feeling happy, sad, excited, gratitude, thankful...

But if you don't feel then why would it matter?

I'd have more faith in the robot route

Would you like to exist in a mundane existence?

I post on the OT... how is this different?

*yes, I watched Chappie last night
I haven't seen Chappie, but if we're capable of digitizing consciousness, plug me into the Matrix instead.

Did you really like it?
It was ok. I hated Ninja.
Just me and the wife discussed if we would want to live on as a robot if we were dying and I thought I would ask the OT.

I'd do it now.
And I'm not even sick.

It wouldn't matter to me, I'd be dead. I defer all those questions to my heirs with any of them having veto authority. A copy of my consciousness wouldn't do me any more good than a copy of my body would when I got obliterated by a "transporter."
[Spoiler Alert}
Think about it in the Chappie context. "Mama" was copied, but she was still alive. She later got shot and died. Her consciousness did not "live on" in the movie. It was just copied and put into a robot for the title character's benefit. "Mama" was still dead.

He didn't say you become a robot, just your conscious is in one. You could feel all those things.
You could also possibly feel the same affects as drinking and sex if you were wired correctly with the right sensors.

I'd be Marvin the Robot from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy: severely depressed and bored.

Damn right. I would want my consciousness to live forever.

Could I talk to others thru the robot? If so, yeah.
Posted on 9/24/15 at 11:47 am to Salmon
If I could be a T1000 sure.

It depends on the robot.
Yes
Yes!
No.

Singularity I probably would, since I see no reason they couldn't program food, booze, and sex into it. But just a plain old robot body, no. Life without those 3 just isn't a life I'd want to live.
