The highest margin bottle of wine on a wine list is the bottle that is the 2nd least expensive. They do this because nobody wants to be seen buying the cheapest bottle so a majority of consumers tend to buy the 2nd least expensive bottle.
But for us OT ballers its always top shelf, amirate?!

Beer or liquor. There is no in between like wine. Wine drinkers think they're too good for beer but are too wimpy for liquor. No wonder the French are all over it. It's a pseudo compromise where you don't have to take a stand.

I drink them all. Sometimes I love to kill a good bottle of wine. Some days I want a good craft beer. Sometimes I just want to get fricked up on some good vodka. To each their own

well a partner of mine who just opened his 4th upscale restaurant seems to think so and has even implemented it into his wine pricing strategy and he says his data supports the claim.
