First, you aren't getting $900M. You're getting $900M spaced over many years as an annuity. The value in today's money is probably closer to $600M.

Of course, the IRS would like a word with you, as will your state and city if they levy an income tax. Moving won't help, it's too late once you win.

So really it's closer to $400M. This is a ballpark estimate, I did no research to come to this number but I'll work with it. Even after the IRS and inflation have done their work to cut you fortune in half, you can park this money in an interest-bearing account and pull out $15M every year for the rest of your life and still leave a fortune to your heirs.
