I'll say it again because it didn't sink in the first time. If America goes to shite then you have bigger issues than money. Especially considering that the money that you are so concerned about protecting is itself backed by the federal government. I know these concepts are probably difficult for you to wrap your head around.

I also don't recall saying putting all your eggs in the US government. You came up with that entirely and completely on your own. I said as low risk instruments as possible and gave an example.

With the right kind of farmland, you just need strippers.

I would probably put it in the bank. what are you even talking about

Depends on the bank. If it’s a local bank, then you are probably going to now be about 75% of their deposits. I could just image the look of the teller handing her that check. I wonder if you can do that at the window.

But putting it in a single account is stupid as your FDIC coverage is only like a few hundred grand so you will need ways to create several accounts.

30Y T bonds went for like 3.10% last auction might be off a tenth.

100m investment gets you 3.1m a year before Federal taxes.

So you guarantee yourself if you massively frick up that you will have a 1%er salary for at least 30 years...

I’m already being paid pretty well to do this type of stuff.

Oh, and here in Cali the after tax lump sum would probably be under $300M.

I reckon I could still make ends meet.

I'd buy lots of land, own businesses like McDonalds, car dealerships, etc... Invest a 100mil and probably spend 50mil on personal stuff and family.
