It's more dump trucks than I thought the world had.

My buddy is a construction manager on the site. He said the infrastructure for the nearest city cannot handle the trucks. They are paying handsomely. Sounded like oil field services type of situation where someone could make a mint providing support services like man camps and catering.

I'm a Hilton man myself. Which is annoying because whatever the hell is going on at Fort Polk right now has them all locked down and has for a month.

There’s a nice new Hilton in downtown Monroe.

What kind of permanent jobs will be around after they finish building this?

I assume groundskeepers and maintenance workers? Will there be like a full-time IT staff for while people just be flying in for that sort of stuff?

I dont understand why they have to use water for cooling. They can use something else. It isnt like they dont have the money.

What’s wrong with using water? It’s not like it mysteriously disappears after they use it.

Exactly. It's like they don't understand how their car stays cool without a water hose attached to it.

And of course there will be permanent jobs related to this. You have to keep all that infrastructure up and running. You have to keep those computers working. You have to feed all those people. You have to remove their waste. You have to do their taxes. You have to feed them.

Everyone around that place is selling their house for a ridiculous premium and it's not because nobody is going to live there after it's built.

Everything has upsides and downsides.

Building these massive AI centers might harm the environment and raise our water and power bills, but at least it will allow billionaires to monitor everything we do more efficiently and slash their workforces faster.

There’s going to be large increase in usage of
Machinery for land clearing
Copper to run all the suitable connections
Nuclear power
Aggregate materials to make concrete.
Generators
Power Transformers

Anytime you do dirt work. Dump trucks cause havoc on the roads of this state.

All the work on Terrebonne’s levees tore up the the roads there, but at least they factored that into some projects and allotted extra money for road work after the project was completed.

Yea, our roads were shite before Meta. And shitty roads quickly become a lot shittier with a never ending barrage of dumb trucks flying down them. There are dump trucks from just about every state in the lower 48 out here dump trucking.
