If you had won the Nickelodeon Super Toy Run, 5 minutes alone in Toys R Us..

Enough virus..let's get nostalgic.
And let's say you somehow won it..back in the day, back in your prime + you get 2 weeks heads up notice during the school year. Now, what items would you have targeted at the time and would you have been thinking about friends or any others besides yourself (if they only have 1 of each item on display up for grabs: 1 nintendo, 1 sega, 1 copy of each game out, action figures, RC vehicles, etc.) while cherry picking as that clock ticked?

Instead of getting all of the cool shite, my dumb arse probably would have just ended up walking out of there with a chemistry set, cheap arse toy store microscope, He-Man action figure and the nearest bike.

Every single LEGO set and every single video game. Then move onto any outdoor toys I could get my hands on

If I'm going back in time with modern day knowledge, I'm studying the hell out Ebay and toy price guides.

I would’ve did that outstretched arm run down the Nintendo wall like I was Michael Jordan in pregame intros.
Somewhat related. Anyone remember the massive disparity in Nintendo game prices? I remember super Mario 3 being like 75 bucks when it came out. Went to the store with about 55-60 dollars I had saved, got really excited to see there were still a few slips in the display holder, then realized I was still a good bit short. Devastating as a 9 year old.

Knowing me at 10 yo I would have panicked and grabbed 500$ worth of Play Doh or some shite.
Nintendo stuff and GI joe Vehicles would have been my list.

I think it was due to the difference in each cartridge. I remember resident evil 2 for N64 was 80 bucks.

I think I remember hearing a kid talk about his win, they let him walk around the store beforehand and had set things up in a concentrated area for him to succeed.
They could afford it lol and wanted a success story they could promote.

My family and I were shocked to discover how much they slant the whole event to give the kid the advantage. As many surely know, Toys'R'Us is a pretty large store. What they ended up doing, was literally rearranging the shelves/sections so that I could go down the isles containing the things I wanted while covering as little ground as possible.
This meant completely transforming the barbie isle into the action figure/transformer isle and the like. The final set up was a row of isles that I could basically rush through, make a u turn a the end, and head right down the next one. To make this happen, I was able to scout out the layout of the store with the emcee of the event (Mike O'Malley, host of "Guts"), who ended up giving me lots of tips and tricks of how take the most advantage of the situation.

The one where they had them out on display behind plexiglass? One time I walked in there at 9 years old and walked out with a hovercraft typhoon 2.

It was whoever made the game. Most games were 60 bucks, but I specifically remember going to get street fighter II turbo for Super Nintendo and it was 80 bucks. Capcom always priced their stuff higher.

Would I have to get an associate to unlock each video game cabinet or are they open already?
I would definitely get every LEGO and as many vidya games as possible
