These people blocking the streets have killed each other, innocent bystanders, and have destroyed businesses. But yeah, let's be cautious not to bump them with our car

Lady went through labor. A man had a stroke and another had a heart attack. Not to mention all the CO2 being released into the atmosphere due to cars idling while these idiots protest about nothing.

I guess it depends. What if you hit someone not associated with the crowd who was having a hard time crossing the street because of the crowds?
What if you hit a person actively trying to get the others out of the way?
I think the driver has a right to defend themselves, but just because I think the protesters are protesting stupid stuff doesn't mean I have a right to run over them with a vehicle; but if they surrounded my car, I have a right to do what will protect my family and myself.
From a legal standpoint, the first and last gifs could easily be tried as attempted manslaughter. Doesn't mean I agree with it, but the driver is on almost NO legal ground for their actions. There is no direct threat of their life, and they basically attacked unarmed individuals with a 1-2 ton vehicle.
They'll most likely get a reduced sentence but they're not getting off scott free.
The other gifs the individuals cause no real harm and had more legit worry of their lives as their vehicles are surrounded.
It's almost a bit weird. The more violent approach is taken by the people in direct threat than the people who clearly had a lot more to worry about.
You have a right to defend yourself. You don't have a right to crash through people because you find their personal hygiene terrible.
