If you could replace the BR Zoo with a new one, where would you put it?

You can pick anywhere in East Baton Rouge Parish.
You can demolish some buildings, but don't get crazy.
Bonus points if the land is not already developed or sitting vacant.

The tract of land on the west side of Nicholson next to the sewer treatment plant that's supposed to be removed. Use that area.

I would put in south EBR because that is where the population with the most spendable money is. It would be really great if it could be easily accessed from I-12, I-10, and the southern loop (it will be built one day) and I would have several casino busses or vans available to bring patrons from North Br to the zoo free of charge so I wouldn't be called racist.

City Park.. Make it smaller with a focus on cats, bears and regional animals.. include an insectarium and awesome reptile center.

ETA.. this would replace the golf course. also add an amphitheatre

How about on the site of that old school on Bawell that is currently housing Lee High until the new school is finished? There's already an interstate overpass there, so they could easily add an on & off ramp and upgrade the streets around it.
