As for home life, with things like the internet and other conveniences, today is indeed the best time

But as for the actual physical space of Baton Rouge, where you walk and drive and live your life, I would much rather live in the BR of 1966.

Need to get Slo in here so we can have this debate for the 647th time

I don't think so.

If for no other reason, I want to see LF#7 win The Heisman. Not read about it in a history book.

Depends. Am I taking my current knowledge, or am I being plugged into the future with no recollection of my being before?

If Idiocracy is any indication of what the future will be like, then I have no desire to time travel to the future .

if you think idiocracy is bad today, you'll see it much more pronounced in the past

No way in hell I would. For starters,

quote:

why anyone would do it considering the above is beyond me. Seems like that'd be an instant dealbreaker.

But besides that, let's say you're there for 1 year then can come back and no time has lapsed. I'd still be a bit hesitant. Think about where we are now compared to 1916. I mean 100 years of societal advancement is almost hard to wrap a head around. Everyone on here would be so woefully lost and confused if they teleported 100 years from now it'd be torture. Think about Brooks from Shawshank trying to assimilate to civilian life after release. Everyone is in a great big hurry, and he can't adjust. I feel like it'd be similar. I mean almost everythign that is normal to people in day to day life in 100 years is going to be so far ahead of what we're used to it's mind blowing.

No thanks. If we continue on this trajectory, free speech will be completely gone by then.
