Golf and it isn't even close. You can play without worry of becoming a physical wreck in old age.

Golf or tennis. You have the freedom to play when you want.

Golf is not a sport. It’s a game. Like checkers, or connect 4.

And to whichever of you keyboard jockeys that said offensive lineman are not athletic I’d bet you wouldn’t say that to a starting left tackles face.

I’d play football cause I’m a man not a pussy!

Baseball. Get a huge check, would like the team aspect.

Then I'll take my paycheck and go play all the golf I want.

If you are a top player you can play maybe 8-10 tournaments per year. Baseball plays 162 games outside of practice. That's almost 45% of the year being a gameday.

Might have been addressed already, but this isn't true anymore. They penalize the players now for not playing in at least 25 tournaments

And they are still practicing around the clock in order to compete. And will continue to do so into their 50s because golf makes that possible

In Tiger's case especially, this is just flat wrong. Brooks Keopka didnt pick up a club between his PGA win until the Tuesday before his next tournament three weeks after. Plenty of guys don't really practice and plenty go out and beat balls 6 or 8 hours a day

Plus an agent is not jacking away your money. All you gotta do is pay your caddy and you are gold. Agents in golf are for sponsorships and that’s free money anyway.

The question was given serious analysis in a study conducted in 2004 by ESPN.com

Using a 15 year old nonstudy is not very compelling evidence

Agree 100%. The amount the game has changed from 2004 to now is insane, thus making that study irrelevant. I will agree that the bulk of the population that plays golf on the weekends is not what most would consider athletic, but the 1% that are on the PGA or Web.com Tour are. Sure there's a percentage of those guys that are "old school" and do a little practicing and go out and hit the ball around, then sit at the bar in the clubhouse and tell stories while having some drinks. Those guys are good enough to get by on their golf talent, but there's also a reason you don't see their names at the top of the leaderboard each week. Secondly, you can check the social media posts from just about any golfer during an off week and see them at a gym doing plyometric workouts(or bench/squat/cleans if your Koepka). Of the top 10 in the world rankings, Molinari might be the only one that I've never seen something like that from.

Wrong

Did they change that already? I know Speith had an issue a few years ago when he didn't make the Tour Championship and was going to be short of the 25 events and had to come up with some kind of resolution with the Tour b/c of it. This is from 2016...
PGA strength of schedule rule

The new rule requires players who didn’t have at least 25 starts in the previous season to add an event to their schedules that they hadn’t played in the last four years.

If you don't play 25 events (and very few guys, especially top guys do) you have to play one event that you didn't play in the last 4 years. So for example, you can play the same 12 tournaments per year and then have a 4 tournament rotation that you play one time every fourth year for a total of 13 per year.

I see your point, but the goal is that all the guys play at least 25 events. There's ways around that, but the idea was that everyone plays at least 25 with hopes that the big names will go to some of the smaller tournaments to help spread the game.

I'm just telling you nobody in the top 25 is playing 25 events if they don't want to and they aren't going to the Sanderson Farms at Jackson Country club in December.
