And don’t turn it off you’re scum.
Plus you’re stupid and deserve public ridicule.

Went to one Tuesday and it happen again.
Some old fat woman had it in her purse, of course she couldn’t get to it till about 5 rings in.

So fricking annoying and disrespectful.
FU if you do this.

End rant.

What if you just aren't an idiot and put it on silent/vibrate?

If you bring your phone anywhere and take 4 rings to get it out of your purse then look to see who it is without silencing the ringer, your phone should be taken from you and shattered.

Never forget my grandfather's funeral. During the graveside service, a family friends phone rang.

And she answered it.

Your phone should be taken from you and buried/cremated along with the deceased.

One of (my) life's simple pleasures since retiring is to be able to leave my phone on my dresser and go on about my day without it strapped to my hip.

I’ve only been to one funeral and I was 12 at the time. So I don’t know anything about funeral etiquette.

Like how handsome am I supposed to look? If I go in there and flex with my full potential, I’m afraid it’ll be distracting and disrespectful. But if I’m not dapper enough I think it would also be disrespectful.

The struggle is real.

One of the old vets who was performing the military honors at my grandfather's had his phone start ringing right when we started the moment of silence. When he didnt answer the person called back a second time. Credit to the guy though, he never flinched from his salute to silence the phone. His face did look pretty red though. I felt bad for him tbh, he was over 80 and was out there standing at attention with 3 feet of snow on the ground to honor my grandpa, he just forgot one thing.

I think most people found it humorous though. It was like some Cingular or Nextel ringtone that I hadn't heard since 2004 which made it even more funny to me.

Same.

The only time my phone isn’t on silent is if I’m expecting an extremely important call, I will put it on my desk with the ring on low.

In short, if it’s in my pocket, it’s on silent, period.

Yep. This is the demographic that does this shite every time.

If a phone is blaring in an inappropriate setting and the owner can't turn it off, it's almost always an old fat woman. It only makes me angrier when someone has to point out to them that it's their phone that is going off because they seem oblivious to the noise coming from their purse.

Absolutely infuriating.

I even turn vibrate off.

My phone stays on silent and I know if someone is calling by my Apple Watch buzzing my wrist. The watch stays on silent, too.

Honestly, I don't understand why people think it's a good idea to bring them into events like funerals, wakes, etc.

Unless there is extreme hot or cold weather outside, just leave it in your vehicle (don't put it where people can see and lock your vehicle). That ways nothing even accidently can happen. I don't get it either.
