No. The Christian god adds Jesus to the the 3-in-1 oil god formulation. The god of the Jews somehow left him out of their god formula. The holy spirit component is floating between the two.
Unfortunately this isn’t the Christian conception of the Trinity. The Old Testament has many references that imply the existence of one God existing in three persons.

quote:

So no, the definition of god in your semantics is vastly different when you toss in the Christian flavor after Jesus was murdered and the “son of god” also became god with the other two.
The son of God did not “become” God after the crucifixion. The son of God is eternally God and became man.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” The word “Word” here is Logos, which also means reason and law, which is more evidence that reason and law existed in the world prior to Mosaic law since man is made in God’s image.

quote:

An illustration is an eye for an eye is vastly different from turning the other cheek.
This verse is very frequently misinterpreted. Eye for eye was written to instruct proportionality and prevent excessive punishment. Another example of you not understanding what you’re arguing.

To add to that, and I don't have time to go look them up now, but there are several instances where the pre-incarnate Christ shows up or speaks in the Old Testament.

I’m being pedantic, but technically there is no pre-incarnate Christ since that refers to his title as the Son of Man.

But yes, God does appear, sometimes as a man, in the Old Testament. That doesn’t mean that it was the Son who showed up or that God was then a man. God also appeared as a burning bush, but that doesn’t mean that God was a burning bush. In the same way, God was not a man until the Word became flesh at Jesus’s birth.

Funny!

Finally, a universal truth.

There are some interesting theories out there that "aliens" are actually demons. I've heard/seen at least 3 interviews with different "alien researchers" who have studied abductions that say as soon as the person abducted invoked the name of Jesus, the "aliens" were scared/agitated, but reverent of the name, and the abductions stopped completely.

Not saying I believe that either way, just something interesting to ponder.

I meant the "Word" as in, "in the beginning was the Word..."

Again, I'll need time to look these up. I think a couple times "the angel of the Lord" is used, it could be inferred that it wasn't an angel, but the Word. In other instances, there are preceding passages that indicate a second divine presence there (as opposed to others in which it really is an angel).

Ever wonder why genocide, slavery and women as chattel never made the commandments? Seems like these deserved at least an honorable mention.

Why would God ignore these? Why would Christians ignore that He ignored them. Why would God ignore so many in the world by allowing their access to be limited to donkey speed word of mouth and language translations for non Christians to get Jesus? Why do so many Christians ignore others’ perspective around the world about faith and life? And vice versa.

Ignorance! Pick your flavor.

Correct. That designation was made by a democratic election of Jesus as the son of god at Emperor Constantine’s Council of Nicea.

During the months long debate, dissenting parties were either disappeared, murdered or executed. In the final vote, Jesus was elected, almost 300 years after his murder.

That designation was declared by Christ himself during his life and affirmed by the writings of his disciples. Arguments over interpretation on the Trinity, specifically unity of will, unity of being, and eternal generation were decided at Nicea.

Do you think aliens could be “a strong delusion” as described in the Bible and that our new wise alien overlords could be a demonic deception?

Jesus was only on earth

If god created life on other planets/galaxies then why didn’t he make them the same as us?

Its simple. Keep an open mind if nothing has been proven as to whether or not something exist.

I can make an argument for either side so...

They are the watchers. You are a mote of consciousness strapped into a murder monkey in order to experience a life here in this 3D environment they have enabled so that we can create it as we interact with it. You are a transducer submerged into a lower plane from where you're actually from in order to transmit information across planes during dreaming. That touching the consciousness every day is required to make your monkey more efficient so you can reduce entropy and help create something that we are programmed in our DNA to evolve towards. Probably AI.
