but that source pollution doesnt stay local. it keeps moving. Maybe you've heard of the water cycle?
I think we need to define "local" here

actually, you're wrong again. Localized sources of increased CO2 or heavy metals can be taken up by plants and removed from the atmosphere or water in a matter of a few tens of meters.
Cities being large point sources with no local ecosystem services overwhelm the surrounding ecosystems and then have deleterious effects downstream.
now this is where sprawl and suburbs blur the lines
are suburbs city or rural?
and again...we are discussing this in a per capita basis

just because the individual in a city may be using less gasoline, doesnt mean that his footprint uses less carbon.
You do know how to calculate that, right? Integrating all needs that are met and actual expenditures?

you missed the point on overwhelming ecosystem services. Go read the post and try again.

I think if you saw a nationwide poll of income compared to political leanings you would find more financially secure conservatives than liberals
Stop speculating and substantiate this nonsense.

You think the weather outside right now proves that there is global warming?
You're a fricking rocket scientist aren't you.

You realize that this has been thoroughly refuted, right?

When I worked in remote sensing we adjusted the 'actual' temperatures we took with the radiometers to better meet what the real temperatures were because we know know temperature effects electronics and we had calibration correction data for that instrument. We also corrected for emissivity of the surface we were measuring.
They don't want to hear any kind of facts or whats done with the data.
All they know is what bullshite articles like this states with no scientific background whatsoever. If they have a scientific background, great, it adds to the discussion.

Jesus fricking Christ. If you don't think the planet is warming, then you're too stupid to be alive.

The question is not if the planet is warming but if man is the reason. And prove that it's warming.

There are very few things worse for water quality than industry, urbanization, and big agricultural operations.
Working on some clean water act commitments at work.. making various heatmaps and displaying data in ways legislators can understand..
Development up, water quality down. It fits like a glove. Also, our pets contribute a shocking amount to poor water quality
