Doesn't matter.
Taking care of the environment and striving for efficiency is a virtue in its own right.
As long as taxes and shite don't go full retard, of course.
As something of an environmentalist, I hate the distraction climate change has been, right or wrong, from the real challenges (mostly in the third world).

There is a sweet spot between environmental regulations/taxes and development.. trick is finding it
IMO if both sides are pissed at the regulatory agency they are probably pretty close to the mark. Environmentalists are upset, builders are upset.. we all win

As someone with little to no knowledge on this topic, how much longer can the United States afford to be Oil dependent? There can't be that much left if you think in terms of generations and not just your own lifetime.

I always love how millennials love their infographics.
doesnt even matter if it's accurate....as long as it;s on FB, and an infographic, it;s REAL!

The 'whistle blower' is John Bates who was not involved in any aspect of the work. NOAA's process is very stove-piped such that beyond seminars there is little dissemination of information across groups. John Bates never participated in any of the numerous technical meetings on the land or marine data I have participated in at NOAA NCEI either in person or remotely. This shows in his reputed (I am taking the journalist at their word that these are directly attributable quotes) mis-representation of the processes that actually occured. In some cases these mis-representations are publically verifiable.

TL;DR: Former NOAA Scientist makes unsubstantiated claims regarding work that he did not participate in and which has been independently verified.

Actually he said that the work was rushed and should have been properly vetted which as far as I can tell still hasn't been done.
And 1 month after the (ill say incomplete) paper was released is when Obama announced his huge reform.
