If you are responsible for causing a car accident in LA, just drive away from the scene

Apparently it's not a criminal offense any LA law enforcement or district attorney's offices care to pursue. Wife and children were rear ended on state highway back in April. Luckily they were not injured and she managed to get the license plate before the guy drove off. State police handled the crash. Nearly five months later and nothing has come of it. I was mad at the guy at first, but now I'm understand why he did what he did.

Also no reason to carry insurance. Just plow into a person, tell em "too bad, so sad" and carry on with your life

Girl around here had a single vehicle accident in her jeep. Somehow she ended up in the middle of the road outside her vehicle and along comes another vehicle and runs her over and never looks back.

had a dude plow into my wife's rear end(that didn't come out right!) at a stop light a couple of months ago, knocked her into the car in front of her, no damage to the car in front, he got out was checking on her and acting nice and concerned and he heard someone calling the fuzz and said "I can't be here when they get here!" and he split with the quickness

My policy was up for renewal in August. Increased nearly $300 for six months. Wish she would have drove home and left the insurance company out of it.

They don't "HAVE" to do anything. The law enforcement chooses when to enforce the law. It is right? Nope. It is life? Yes. Trust me. I get it. Justice doesn't always look like we want it to or work how we want it to work. I'd be pissed too. I have many things to be pissed about. But as sad as it is sometimes you just have to count your blessings. I know it isn't the answer you wanted but that's just life BAW.

Have they updated you on if the guy was located? What were you expecting to come of it?
