My grandmother's name was Mary Mildred but she went by Mildred. Like why? Was that a popular name back then? She also played softball in the 1940s

this was the CBS Movie of the Week on WKRG in Mobile on the night in 1979 that Hurricane Frederick hit

we lost power about halfway through, didn’t get it back for two weeks

never have seen the rest of the movie

Going up my tree I had grandmothers named Manerva, Marietta, Nimpie Lee, Francis, Alphonsa, Harriet, Ruth, Parthenia and Rose.

Grandfathers named Sanberry, Greenberry, Coonrod , Garland and Reddick.

Reddick was a pretty unique name for a male born in 1851. He could have definitely played travel ball. And I have always wondered what made Coonrods dad James name him that.
