Ban all of this shite instead:

quote:

Unhealthy diet contributes to approximately 678,000 deaths each year in the U.S., due to nutrition- and obesity-related diseases, such as heart disease, cancer, and type 2 diabetes. In the last 30 years, obesity rates have doubled in adults, tripled in children, and quadrupled in adolescents.

FYI - It is none of government's business what choices we make.

Let grown arse adults make their own decisions with what they put in their body.

Disagree with the bans, such an over reaction. Pretty much anything can kill you or cause harm if you ingest too much of it.

I don't eat any of that.

If anybody else wants to, have at it, as long as I'm not paying for your health care.

But I thought the government existed to decide what we’re free or not free to do?

Any food can kill you if you eat enough of it. Water can kill you if you drink too much. Horrible argument. Moderation is the key with most things.

They should ban it from food stamp/welfare purchases.

Allow just milk, pasta, rice, meat, fruits, vegetables, etc.

It wouldn't be hard to just remove candy, desserts, and sugary drinks from the list of available items. This topic infuriates me. The % of low socio-economic people in this country that are obese and require healthcare on the dime of others because of their obesity is a fricking travesty.

Just tax the shite out of it, and if stupid people want to do stupid things, so be it.

Sure it is. Don't you think it's better that they have banned going 200 MPH on the interstate? banned civilians from owning nuclear weapons? Banned murder, rape, theft?

Edit: We imagine that government exists to help us live together in peace. But in reality we more often use government to punish each other, not for violence, but for making lifestyle choices different from those we prefer.
