I'd go with Omaha or Kansas City. While acknowledging that they're boring, those two cities border between two states and are centrally located between the lower 48. No accessibility from the ocean or Great Lakes, and not very much culcha of crime out there.

I'm sorry, but who is going to invade us by sea? We'd see them coming for months due to satellites. There is no way any country can mount an offensive attack on the US.

Keep it where it is, but if I had to choose an alternative, let's go with Nashville.

Does he realize this isn't a coincidence? They're rich because of the industries that accompany being in proximity to the capital of the world's super power.

Move it wherever you want, the wealth will follow.

Some island in the Mississippi River just north of the Arkansas/Missouri border. And if there isn't and island there, make one, but no larger than 10 square miles.

Birmingham. We will then be able to centralize in one place all the screwings we receive.

I'd list every state capital whose metro contains between 500,000 people and 2,000,000 people, then start moving some of these departments that don't need to be in DC to those locations.

Memphis or St. Louis, both decent size cities located near the middle of the country

Both have very reasonable costs of living.
