If something happened on the ISS that killed the astronauts

Like a small piece of space debris or something punctured the ISS an caused a vacuum release or maybe a fire or something, but in any case killed the astronauts, we would have dead bodies floating overhead for at the minimum a couple of weeks.
I'm assuming the could do an orbital correction to bring it down, but calculating and implementing that would still take a couple of months. If that couldn't happen they would be floating overhead for years.
And think about if the rupture was so big that their bodies escaped into space? They would for sure be floating over us for years. That's pretty crazy to think about.

Not really, blasting someone miles into the air until they get into a giant vacuum is a pretty dangerous activity in and of itself, they’re kind of aware of the risks.

Might want to chill out on the shrooms bro.

I know they are aware of the risks. What's crazy is that we will have dead bodies floating over us for years and years.

if they bring it down it will just burn up

Yeah but that would take a while to coordinate.
But if it ruptures and the bodies are ejected they can't just bring those down. They just simply travel thousands of miles overhead until orbital decay eventually causes them to reenter, but that would be years and years away. In the meantime dead bodies would float over us. There would probably be websites tracking it even so that you could see the date/time when so and so would pass over.

This might be the most random thought ever posted on the OT.

Supposedly there is a cosmonaut flying in space dead since the 50's.

When Columbia broke up in the stratosphere there were pieces raining down over hundreds of miles. They found an intact helmet in east Texas. They never said whether there was anything in it.

They would give some bs excuse like a paper clip got loose and killed everybody but woke people would know it was aliens from nebulon sector 13

Or it could be a long lost cosmonaut slamming into them.
If the ISS ruptured spilling their bodies out into space, that’s a lot of mass traveling at very high speeds, so a whole lot of force. What if a satellite was taken out by one of them slamming into it? And what if that happened to a military satellite and was mistaken for a hostile action and then retaliated on? A dead astronaut who essentially became a moon started a war..crazy.

It always surprised me that no one has ever died in space. Only on return and take off.
The station has so many redundancies that it will seal off and detach a damaged section before it lets a vacuum leak spread.
If they all died who knows what they would do with it. Technically it's only reachable by Russia with people on board (thanks Obama, literally) and half owned by them, so it's hard to tell what WE would do. It's not like they are going to blast off in a space shuttle from a museum.
SpaceX and NASA would needs months to fasttrack a mission like this.
I was at a museum recently and they said for every shuttle launch they had five boosters, two fuel tanks and seven main engines on site.
They had the ability to launch a shuttle, launch another and have a back up booster or engine.
Also the engine is very impressive in person.
We currently have no public knowledge ability to reach space with people on board ready to go.
(some say the Air Force has a light orbit entry vehicle launched from a plane, manned)

If the astronauts went through the wall of the space station theyd run the risk of getting run over by cars on Hollywood boulevard
