this is my line of thinking, actually.

Are you joking? How does that affect how you feel about what happened to you? You’re either affected by the act or not, what the person is currently doing should be irrelevant.

no... I'm not joking

the way I feel about the incident and what happened will never change regardless of outcome.

in an ideal world, a conversation would be had with the offender to gauge whether or not they had regret about the situation and has tried in some way to atone for their action.

no, if he or she has treated people well since then and is a good person, the incident would not get reported.

on the other hand, if he or she's a piece of shite, then it would get reported.

Nah, 20 years is too long imo. If it affected a person that much, they should have reported it when it happened.

were you violently attacked as a kid? if not, you honestly don't know what the hell you would have done.

Why do you need courts to take revenge?

Why? Nothing good will come of it unless you have solid proof. Just let it go and go on with life

When in college over 25 years ago, someone stole my roll of quarters my mom gave me for laundry from my dorm room. I discovered it was missing when trying to use it to pay for a bag of weed.

If I ever find out who it was, that fricker is getting reported.

that shite never works out the way you think, or hope it will. further, I don't believe in heaping an evil act on top of another evil act. That would make me the sinister individual.

like i said in the OP, there is solid proof. but ultimately, i tend to agree with you about nothing good happening.

there is no statute of limitations for this attempted act.

Attempted? No... and there probably are statutes of limitations on any attempted offense that was not successful.

Memories shift, people change, nothing is the same after 20 years. You should have let this go long ago

someone attempting to take your life and being close to succeeding isn't something that is easily let go; especially when it was suppressed trauma you never fully processed the implications of.

I would not report. Abduct said violater, bury alive with a gopro watching him/her die slowly in a panic. May provide an oxygen source to extend the anguish and my entertainment.

You seem to already know the answer your looking for and just want validation. Since ever person who's said you should let it go you've ridiculed and asked how the hell they would know what to do since they've never been there. Well you asked and they gave there honest opinion. Dont get butthurt. Although I have a feeling that's probably the root of this problem anyway. Especially since your an Aggie and what not.
