If JBE closes gyms tomorrow, every gym member should call their gyms and threaten to cancel their memberships if they abide by the order
So then the state/parish/city pulls their occupancy permit. So now they aren't open, they lose all their memberships, and they will have to close permanently.
Protesting seems to work. Maybe y'all should go hold a protest outside the governor's mansion

People keep mentioning casinos but has anyone stepped foot in one recently?

What is it with people trying to cancel things when something doesn’t go their desired way? I support businesses that I want to and you can do the same, but promoting to tank someone’s business when they aren’t at fault is not a moral thing to do and I don’t support your thoughts of calling for such.
How long are people supposed to pay for membership to something they don’t have access to?
I don’t think it’s cancel culture to say if they close you aren’t going to pay, especially if you paid the first few months they were closed.

if they are in such dire need that they will close anyway with another shutdown then why are they going along with the shutdown?
Perhaps they are worried about potential lawsuits(frivolous or otherwise) or having their business license pulled and unable to re-open in the future. My gym cut our rate 50% during the shutdown and I chose to support the local business. If you choose to cancel your membership it understandable but why be a dick about it?

Yep. I belong to a larger one, but I can see how the small places will be out of business soon if they can't stay open.
I take classes at my gym at least twice a week and workout three times a week. There is no damn reason gyms shouldn't remain open as long as they are following good safety measures.

Agreed. The type of people that go to gyms aren’t the ones at risk anyway. I feel terrible for small gym owners and employees being political pawns for federal dollars

Happy to report that I just left my gym and they are indeed still only requiring mask while walking around and not while using equipment.
And it warmed my heart as always to see so many people over the age of 60 in there exercising and talking to their friends.
