What events are going on in St Tammany that could possibly need this type of development where the Castine Center or Harbor Center aren't already suitable venues?
It's not what's currently going on, but what's not. Both the Castine and Harbor Centers are too small and inadequate for sporting or family events at scale. There's no permanent seating, poor acoustics and infrastructure, with both venues at <2000 people.
There was a feasibility study performed by Stone Planning, LLC. which presented analysis research and conclusions for St Tammany Parish. There was interest from Live Nation, LHSAA (volleyball, basketball, powerlifting, wrestling), Amateur sports, Rodeo, MASL (indoor soccer), AAL (American Arena League), to name a few. Much less the touring events produced by FELD Entertainment including, Monster Jam, Supercross and Disney on Ice, etc. This would be a 5,000 - 6,000 seat venue.
Residents of St. Tammany should not have to rely solely on entertainment or events located in New Orleans.

They will never rebuild it. Not enough money and no reason to really.

Sounds like a good way to light your money on fire.
Someone should do it

Same spot. Is the only answer. Besides they just dumped $560MM into it ahead of the Super Bowl. It’s really nice.
The flight out of St Tammany would be so fast if they put the dome there. It’d be New Orleans east in 10 years.

What’s the latest on a new basketball arena? They did their studies on the SKC awhile back but never reported on it? That seems like the first thing that would get replaced.

I love the superdome where it’s at, but if they had to move it I think putting it somewheres on the lakefront would be a good idea

Demolish the Bywater and Frenchman or take a bulldozer to the Treme.

Probably the most iconic stadium in the NFL at this point. Not going anywhere.

Since UNO is swirling the drain anyway, tear down UNO Lakefront Arena and put a new stadium out there.
I still like CBD better. Proximity to hotels, restaurants, the FQ.

As long as taxpayers and govt aren’t involved I dont care.

They would want it downtown or maybe by Mardi Gras world on the river. New Orleans is pretty tiny city and the appeal is having everything so close to the restaurants and bars visitors frequent.
