The Tangipahoa Humane Society runs a no kill shelter.

Guilt the wife into keeping the dog, similar to the way she guilts you into getting what she wants.

The truth about "no kill shelters" is that when they are full, they send the extra animals, usually the least likely to be adopted animals, to the SPCA, where they will likely be euthanized. At least they aren't the ones that are killing them, right? That's part of the harsh realities I'm talking about.

That is what our vet has her on. It helps but doesn't eliminate the problem entirely.

Your wife is a pretty shitty person. Don't have kids with her.

See, that's really not fair. Your wife might be a shitty person, but it's not automatically so, simply because she doesn't want a dog peeing in her house all the time.

Pile clean blankets and towels in your dog’s favorite sleeping spot, or put waterproof pads under her bedding to absorb any moisture.
Take your dog for more frequent walks, including first thing in the morning and shortly after she wakes from a nap.
Consider using doggie diapers, which are available at many pet stores.
Please consult with your vet before limiting your dog’s water intake.
Provide proper hygiene to prevent any related skin infections.

Is it feasible for you to install a dog door?

I may have missed it, how old is the dog?
If she is older it may be incontinence. If not, she may have a bladder infection.
I would go back to the vet to see if there was another medication or another option for treatment.

If your wife refuses to budge & you cannot find someone to take her in, as cruel as it sounds, take her to the vet & have her put down yourself.
Dropping a dog off at the shelter is very stressful on them, just to die alone. At least if you are there when the time comes she wont be alone.

& then hold it against your wife for the rest of your life because she sounds like a horrible person

the opinion was probably based on the fact that the wife is shirty because she would be ok with the dog dying rather than finding a solution to the dog peeing in the house.

not really directed at op.
people who encounter one problem with a dog and they give up. it's a throw away society and its pretty sad as the ones who suffer are our pets.
hopefully a kind person will adopt this dog and give it a life it needs, I can't help to think that stress is a factor and the dog obviously is not getting the walks it needs.

Lock your wife and the dog in the trunk of your car for a few hours. Open it up, and whichever one is happiest to see you, you keep.

shepherds are very social dogs who need a leader. Placing a shepherd outside in isolation would cause the animal stress, and cause more problems for the owner. They need jobs, and mental stimulation.

Try using kennel, decrease the water intake, or increase frequency of potty breaks. Never scold the animal because this will lead to it happening more.

Need details on the dog. Age? What is the cause of the incontinence? If you are in N.O./BR try Red Stick German Shepherds.

Keep the dog 100% of the time in the back yard. Rescue another dog so they can hang out together.

Problem solved.
