They so wanted to make this a worst case scenario for TB but it landed where it was always forecasted to

The comment about Hall seems to be a gross misinterpretation. He actually said just this. He said they got the projection right from their initial and that while it has ended up a bit further south that they have been on the money.

Ft Myers Beach or Ft Myers the Town? They are many miles apart.
The guage is in the River near the US41 bridge near the Centennial Park.
(I just looked on a map and have never been there).

It’s act as a make shift barrier from water. Not as good as sand bags but better than nothing. They’ll also go on the outside. Started the hurricane drinking early so maybe wasn’t too clear.

They forgot hurricanes don't hit Tampa

Downtown Ft. Myers. Caloosahatchie has breached and downtown is currently under about two feet of water and still rising.

Ryan Hall has turned into a fricking hack chasing views and subs, nothing more.

OK so 2 feet not 7 feet. Thanks for the information.

That is Ft. Myers proper, on the mainland.

Ryan Hall needs to look at some upper air maps. The southern shift was telegraphed for a couple of days. He would know how to read them if he went to school for it.

To all of those in the storm’s path, looking for some help. My father in law stubbornly decided to stay in Port Charlotte rather than coming up here to our place just north of Tampa. Got a text a while ago, he’s good so far (cinder block house with storm shutters/ system over the windows. That said, as the winds shift while the storm moves NNE, he’s highly likely to get some serious flooding from storm surge and the continuous raining. He’s not on the water, but in a low lying area in a one story house. We want to head down there as soon as it is safe to do so to make sure he is OK, and also start to help to clean up. Could y’all please remain engaged over the next 24-36 hours and let us know when you think it’s ok to drive in?
Oh, and for anyone interested, Odessa update- some rain and occasional wind gusts shaking the windows and bending the trees, but so far mostly like a typical afternoon FL thunderstorm, but much longer in duration….
ETA- who the frick would downvote this? Seriously, frick you

Honestly, it is headed for 7 ft of water in the streets though. Still rising rapidly.

Heard this morning that some rivers in Florida were already at a very high stage because of all the rain they’ve been having. Not a good combo.

I’ve noticed this Ryan Hall guy seems to be very let down it didn’t hit Tampa. Don’t know what’s wrong with people these days.

This doesn’t leak?
I’d use the wife’s hair straightener and seal them if I had to do that
