How far off was it?
VERY close to the original prediction but as of a couple of nights ago, the center of the cone was on top of Tampa. It slid further south back to the original location with each advisory.

Our power is still on. I got an alert from Duke about power outages but we’re good so far. Wind is picking up the last 20-30 minutes.

Euro/UKMET were on this path days ago though, the GFS sucked

It's coastal Florida. Where the frick they gonna find higher ground?
I would consider a fire truck and ambulance to be critical infrastructure to be protected.
Even in costal Florida I seriously doubt there wasn't a higher alternative such as a parking structure etc. or they could have moved them further inshore etc.
But whatever just sit in the station hanging out and watch the water rise.

Another car just drove up to Jeff in the north eyewall at 135mp sustained.
Youtube chat comment: "Jeff, we are trying to notify you that your extended warranty is about to expire."
Jeff is almost in the eye... about 1 mile away.

The consistent talk was just south of Tampa or more north toward the bend. Instead, much further south happened.
I always laugh this. A 400 mile wide storm blowing 155 mph that was radar for over a week, and people mad about it being off a few miles.

Duke wouldn't waste time texting people when he has your glorious flamethrower of a website to spread his word.

That was great. That ole baw is trying to clear roads in the eye of a Hurricane
