Early he said around 8 feet on a pole, then said could be 10-12 feet, cause someone said a dude was standing on another guys shoulder to install it

Based off of the last radar image, the southern eyewall looks as strong or stronger than the northern eyewall. This is incredible.
That's been the trend with Ian.

Just for perspective, Fort Myers has a population of 83,505.
It's underwater. How many people do you think stayed?
Everyone I know down there (our HQ is in downtown Ft. Myers) has stayed. That includes 4 people I know that live on canals in Cape Coral. People there just don't leave.
ETA: This thing was headed to Tampa as of last night too, so not many left I would imagine.

From a post over in Stormcast forum
Northeast eyewall just exploded with convection. I just checked velocities again...167mph on the very inside of the eastern eyewall and 175mph in the western eyewall...between 5kt and 7kft

Didn’t see a lot of crazy evacuation traffic footage the past day or two, did you? I don’t recall it. Sort of scary to ponder.
I was thinking the same thing.

Cam 9 is basically underwater constantly now so surge is at least 9-10ft

The surge in Naples right now on NBC2 is crazy.
High tide is in an hour. Not good at all. Same going up the coast. High tides are going to be at just about the worst possible times.

Fort Meyers Cam 9 is underwater. Cam 1 is bizarre looking.

2 PM EDT advisory going to be right at landfall.

From the looks of the radar, #5 and #9, aren’t going to get any relief in the eye…looks like they will stay in it.
