Technology has amplified it but people born towards the beginning or end of a generation generally have some characteristics of the other one.

I agree with you. I think early Millennials have far more in common with late Xers than they do early Zs. But if I'm throwing a dart, that bridge sub-generation of 82 to 89 is really, really interesting as a group.

As someone in the outside looking in who is neither a boomer or a millennial, I disagree with you 100%.

Millennials and GenZ will eventually give us someone like AOC or Bernie in charge which should frighten you unless you are dirt poor.

20 years is too long for a generation. I like the modernized graphs that break generation by 10 years.

I agree, but it's pretty funny seeing the 30s crowd desperately trying to explain how they're not really a millennial

Very few do so. What we do spend quite a bit of time doing is explaining to idiot Boomers that today's teenagers aren't Millennials.

Millennials vs. Boomers while the X’ers are busy running the show and keeping the shite together.

Yep. We were gifted most of the modern technology and had to learn it, then teach both the older and newer generations how to use it.

Because they're neither Millennials nor Gen X. They're called cuspers. And there are cusp Generations between every major generation that's ever existed.

Generational cultures just don't change in one year. There are no hard lines. There's always a small transition generation that grows up with the traits of both those before them and those after.

I wonder who raised them to be this way.

Could it be...

That's the cusp generation between X and millenial. It's definitely a specific group has its own unique characteristics. If anything they have more in common with Gen X. That's to be expected though since most of us grow up looking up to an older cousin or sibling.

The actual range though that you have is a little off. In my own personal experience it's more like 1980/1981-1986 or so.

So basically, people that are 33-39. Everybody I know in that age range is different then those people that are older than them and definitely different than those people that are younger than them.

1980 is the weird year. To me, anything in the 70’s (70-79) is generation x and 1980-1995 is millennials. But many say 1980 is gen x.
