I know I guess technically their uses are a little outdated.

They are sitting ducks in today's battlefield. We do need ships with guns larger than 5". There is currently a proposal to place Army artillery and MLRS in ships.

Trump should recommission them so that we can take back the Gulf and restore it as the Gulf of USA like the old days.

Ideally, newer battleships would be more tactically mobile than the ships built 70 years ago.

With the advent of new missile/mortar countermeasure systems I've often wondered if we'd get back to Battleships.
Current tech like Iron Dome and C-Ram would lack the kinetic power to destroy a fired projectile weighing from 1,900 to 2,700 pounds (860 to 1,220 kg) at a muzzle velocity of 2,690 ft/s (820 m/s)(1834.1 mph)

Position them along the Mexican coast on both sides to take out caravans near the coast and any attempted ship crossings. The remaining invaders will be funneled through central Mexico where we can use artillery to take them out.
