You got about a decade on me. But yes. So many 3.5" floppys filled with pics. If I had to wait that long to download it; it was getting saved for later, quicker viewing.

Born in '81 and fondly recall the tail end. TMNT, Super Mario Bros. Super Show, He-Man, GI Joe and Star Wars everything. Early 90's were essentially an extension of the 80's with Saved by the Bell, Street Fighter 2, and lots of time at the mall.

John Hughes has you all fricking fooled. Sure, the 80s had cool action figures, cartoons, and the evolution of home video game consoles.

But, As others mentioned, we were facing imminent death from AIDS, Russia, or Cocaine.

But it was worth imminent death because everyone was having fun, making money, and living a good life.

I think most people had cable by the late 80's considering my parents were hold-outs until 86. Even then, the only really entertaining scripted TV was on the big 3. Then I found that glorious channel called Music Television. They had these things called music videos.

I wonder whatever happened to that station.

I went to shite when reality TV took over.

The funny thing about the 80s, is the entire time, everyone complained about how they sucked compared to the 70s

I am an 80s child! And of course, I rule because of it.

I graduated from LSU in 1988. It was a great decade for me personally. The 70's were fun as well. Life was so much simpler in those days.

I graduated from HS in 96. I think guys my age grew up blessed to experience two of the best eras in pop culture.

The 80's were great as a young kid because of the toys, the cartoons, and still being able to play outside.

the 90's were awesome for college aged people because the 90's were sexier than the 80's. Spring Break back in the 90's set the tone for what you see today

Okie Dokie. I was born in 1978 so I was 10 in 1988, but my brother and sister are 10 and 11 years older than I am so I was exposed to all the 80s things through them. I remember when I was about 6 or 7 my brother made me a tape of the beastie boys.

He use to give me tapes of all kind of music. Run DMC, slick rick, etc and he told me as long as I didn't tell my parents he had it he would make me copies or give me whatever it was he didn't want my parents to know he had. My sister was more into the pop music. Michael Jackson, pretty much any popular 80s song that you think of as "80s" music so I was exposed to a lot of stuff that other kids my age, who didn't have older siblings, was not exposed to.

My brother had an Atari, he had one of those vibrating football fields.. That are things I wouldn't have had if it wasn't for them..
