If you live in a rural area and here 6 gun shots and look out the window and see an unknown man in the corner of your yard with a gun the last thing someone will think is "oh he is probably just shooting a deer that was wounded by a vehicle" because it doesn't take 6 shots to kill a wounded deer.
They guy clearly isn't one who takes gun safety serious because him being too emotional about the kid being, what he thought was "inhumane" could have cost him his life.
If you are on someone's property with a gun out, you automatically become a threat.. But year.. he is a pussy.

You got to tell that baw to put his gun down on your property or he’s getting a lead diet. After he does that you can figure out what’s up till the cops get there. Now if he did it on my front porch he might have got shot through the door. That dude is a lunatic. Probably couldn’t have hit you anyway if he shot a hit deer 6 times to kill it.

I agree with this. If that guy was banging on your door there is no reason to shoot him. You can ignore him, or you can yell to him and communicate. The only reason to shoot him would be if he kicks down your door, or starts firing.
