The good: Congrats on triggering the (presumably) non-Native American white SJW who was looking out for whether or not other people might find a word mildly upsetting. I always love a good 'ol fashioned SJW triggering.
The bad: Being that this is a public speaking class,if your speech material had nothing to do with political correctness, unnecessarily using terms (such as Redskins) can take away from the overall message that you're conveying. Limiting the use of sensitive terms to discussions where they're relevant is a valid point to consider for public speaking.
The ugly: It's not going to get better any time soon.

One of my favorite things was when there was a sjw petition to change the Florida State Seminole mascot. The Seminole tribe leaders were interviewed and they said they're all big Seminole fans. No reason to change it.
