The video in the link shows what appears to be a line of (presumably) BR police cars following through the intersection after the crash.

It appears the chase started in EBR. Continued to WBR. Then the driver turned around somewhere in Addis to start heading North on LA 1 back towards EBR. The Addis cop was the first one through the intersection. Ahead of the line of BRPD. I guess it is possible he just blew by all of the BRPD to get in front once he joined the chase (if so, they guy is going to jail for a long time). But I suspect what happen was the chase passed him initially. Then, when the driver turned around to go back towards EBR he jumped in front of the BRPD cars who were also turning around to follow north bound. Right?

Horrible.

Criminal should face same sentence since he was going just as fast. He shouldn’t get “off” just because he was a few seconds early

What is also disturbing is that for a while you do not see anybody get out of any vehicle to see about the injured in the wreck?

Hell even most of the police in the pursuit just drive on by, then at last the guy/gal in the truck turning left off the highway turns right from the left turning lane and stops at the wreck, and then the video cuts out.

Something about the way they stopped the footage just before the crash is really unsettling.

Well according to BRPD, they called off their pursuit of the car before it got off the bridge. That video proves otherwise

Yeah there’s at least one BRPD car still involved. You can see it pull up at the end. Most of the rest don’t appear to be BRPD however.

One thing that I was curious about was in a pic I saw the wreck appeared to be closer to the Walk On’s than a wreck at that intersection would have allowed. Now I can tell from the video that the victim’s car was pushed down the highway a long arse way. Just terrible.

To me it looks like the first police car through the intersection after the wreck pulls over immediately, the rest of the cars continue pursuit, and then the last car also pulls over.

I’m not gonna blame other bystanders for hesitating to get out when the last driver through the intersection got creamed by a cop going a million mph.

Does not absolve the actions of the cop.

The cop caused the accident, and he killed those kids.

The circumstances surrounding and influencing his actions don't matter.

He was dangerously reckless and, allegedly, in dereliction of his duty. If what the DA alludes to is true.

Who wants to bet he ignored orders to stand down? That seems likely to be the case if you listen to what the DA is carefully laying out in his interview.
